KEEPING UP

UPDATED Jan28, 2008

Hey! I finally have updated the NEWS page. Wow. Been awhile. Man a lot has happened over the last two years. The band is going strong and we've had some lineup changes. We are very proud of the 35 dates we played in 2007 and look forward to an even more Rockin 2008! We have a few new clubs to invade and we look to play some bigger outdoor events this summer in both Illinois and Iowa. We are very excited to branch out somewhat into new territory. We hope to be bringing the show to the Springfield and Bloomington area this summer as well. Like I said before, we've had some changes in the lineup. Damon Strode left the band at the end of 06. He is the original bassist for JENERATION JONES and we had lots of fun while he was at the wheel. Damon has decided to pursue his love of heavy metal music. He then passed the bass off to the mad bass player called Evil T. He, of course, is the notorious Tony Bridson formerly of Radius. We had a great time while evil t was bassin for us. He is a great and comical guy. Very talented. Tony has started his own band based out of Pekin called VOO DOO. Check em out when you can. Lotza talent in that new band. Which brings us to our new addition on bass, Shawn Carley, a.k.a. "Scooby". Shawn hails from Canton and has been a popular working guitar player for nearly 20 years in local bands playing a various assortment of styles from Blues to Metal. His last project is a band called SIFTED, where Shawn fronted the band on vocals and played lead guitar. SIFTED has been playing the local club circuit for the last 5 years with much success and a loyal fan base. I have had the opportunity to work with Shawn in the past in a band called Burnpyle. A very talented and dedicated musician, he has earned the reputation of being one of Central Illinois' best musicians and vocalists. Scooby's vast talent will bring a new flavor to JENERATION JONES on vocals and in style. We are very excited to unveil the new lineup fresh with some new songs and some new all around shenanigans. Always a party at a JENERATION JONES show! We have a library of songs ranging from Stevie Nicks to Drowning Pool and can accommodate almost any venue or any age group. Primarily a club band, JENERATION JONES is also available to play weddings, parties and dances. We intend to keep the Rock n Roll goin as long as we can. We appreciate all the people who come to our shows. Many times I have thought of giving music up only to realize that as long as you good people continue to like what we do, we will always like doing it. If you are interested in booking JENERATION JONES please contact me (Darrin) at 309-299-4519. Hope to see you at a JENERATION JONES show this year! Let's Party! -Later

Hello all and welcome again to the JENERATION JONES web site. Thank You for taking an interest in us. We would like to know you, so be sure to sign our Guestbook on the SAY IT page before you leave. A lot of effort has gone in to bringing our show to some new and bigger venues. We are looking forward to 2006 and a new lineup of pubs and clubs to Rock! It has been very difficult for us to crack into the Peoria club scene without a promotional cd, but we are starting to make headway. We get by with a little help from our friends. Thanks to our people. As far as the cd goes, we keep running into roadblocks. But, as promised, we are hoping to have it out before spring. We have been working on original material as well as covers for the cd. We are also working on some new artwork and the new black JENERATION JONES t-shirts will be out soon. We never keep em long, so make sure you get yours. 90% of our shirts are given away to our loyal fans at our shows. We would like to thank all of you who participated in our Rock music poll. It seems that Hard Rock is what the majority of you want us to play. If not, cast your vote today! We have added another 15 songs to our list since my last news page, which makes our list really longggggggg. We have a broad spectrum of hits to accommodate your venue. If you are interested in booking JENERATION JONES, you may contact me here or by phone 309 303 8331 or by contacting TIM WOODS at 309 778 2092. 2005 was a busy and eventful year for us. We played a lot of cool places and met hundreds of new friends. We really had fun this year and would like to thank you and our fans who attend every show. ERIC,HOLLY,CRYSTAL,AUTUMN,REGINA,OTHER AUTUMN,JERALD&BRANDY,BUCK&KERI LYNN,RONDA. We love you all. We have a date this Saturday at MOORE'S in Canton. It will probably be the last time at MOORE'S for awhile. Hope to see you there. We also have another date at DIZZY DEAN'S in Bartonville on Feb. 4, 2006. We played there on the 23rd and had a great time. GREG DEAN has got a really nice bar in a nice part of town. Nice stage area, plenty of room for dancing and shenanigans. Look for DIZZY DEAN'S to become a Peo hotspot. We are purposefully holding off on booking the early part of 2006. We really need time to devote to producing the cd. There will be a few gigs on the schedule to keep the rust off. You can keep up on our dates on our SCHEDULE page. JENERATION JONES is currently looking for a sound man. Anyone interested should contact jjdarrin@jenerationjones.com. We have full PA and lights. Your gear or ours. Pay is negotiable. Our stage and show grows constantly. We would also like to thank RADIUS for all of their help this year. A great bunch of talented guys. If you get the chance to take in a RADIUS show, you will not be disappointed. Thanks FRANKIE, TONY, STAN, AND KIRK! Please visit the CENTRAL ILLINOIS ROCKERS ASSOCIATION WEBRING located at the bottom or our home page as well as our band links. Also, please visit tanksplace.com and vote for your favorite central Illinois rock band. PEACE.

Hey again Jones Fans. We would like to thank you for your interest in our band. Claude, Damon, Sunday, and Darrin give a great shout out to you. We hope you are all staying cool in these dog days of summer. The band has been very busy. The Testicle Festival at LORRI'S MARIETTA TAP was a complete blast. We had a couple of hundred people pass thru, and lines of killer bikes. The weather was perfect and the beer was frosty as JENERATION JONES rocked and rolled Fulton County. Eddie's beer garden was full of partying crazies while PANAMA gave tattoos and fryer after fryer of hog nuts were consumed. Lorri assures me that we will do it again before the summer is up. It was a great time and Lorri and Eddie are super people. Pics are posted of the shenanigans. We also played Pekin's annual TOYS FOR TOTS Christmas in July benefit concert on the 9th. We had a great time. It was very hot and the day was long but the show was phenomenal. The lineup consisted of MID LIFE CRISIS, JENERATION JONES, MULLER ROAD, SHOTGUN CHARLIE, TRAILER PARKE, NOTES TO WEDNESDAY, THROTTLE, and RADIUS. The organization raised a lot of money for the charity. Thank you to the U.S.MARINES COMPANY C 6TH ESB!! Frankie and the boys from RADIUS handled the entertainment, scheduling the bands and the lights and sound. Bill Keister from ILLINOIS CONCERT SOUND AND LIGHTING did a fantastic job of shuffling the bands equipment mics and dialing in the sound. Bill is a true professional, that's why he's been around so long. There was also a magic show and lots of free stuff for all. It was a great concert and the bands were all jammin'. RADIUS put on one of the most organized benefits I have ever played. What a cool gig. We met many local musicians and all were very courteous and professional. There was a heap of talent in that field that day. We hope to be there next year to put on an even bigger show. We have a new club in August. We are at SOUTHSIDE in Virginia, IL on the 6th. TIM WOODS tells me that it is a great bar where they are hungry to rock. We will accommodate. If you would like to ride down with us, email me and we will arrange transportation. Show your support cuz JENERATION JONES loves you! We are back at MOORE'S on the 19th. The crowd has been very light lately. There is a new club in Canton and MOORE'S has really taken a hit. They need you back! Please don't forget about all of the great bands and wild times we've had at MOORE'S. It is sad to see it so empty. On the 27th we are back at DUKE AND JOANNIE'S in Chandlerville. We always have a blast in the little ville. Joannie tells me that this time we are in the beer garden. Can't wait. We appreciate our fans down south. They Rock! On the homefront, Damon continues to rehab his knee. He had surgery a few weeks ago and is still on crutches. I think he misses rockin atop the speakers. Hopefully he will be jumpin around soon. The rest of us are just working and plugging along. We will be playing original material soon with a CD coming. Thanks again for checking us out. Come on out to a show and Rock with us. Please sign our guestbook(SAY IT)before you leave. We would like to know you too. Feel free to participate in our poll and please click on our band links and the CENTRAL ILLINOIS ROCKERS ASSOCIATION WEBRING link at the bottom of our homepage. Thanks for supporting local music. YOU! Kick ass.

Hello again everyone and welcome all newcomers to the JENERATION JONES website. We really appreciate the interest you all have in our band, and we would like to thank you all for supporting us and coming to our shows. YOU are the reason we continue. Please sign our SAY IT page before you leave. We want to know you too. Well, finally it is getting warmer out. That can only mean one thing…Outdoor Rock Concerts! Something we look forward to all winter. We have a couple of really cool shows planned this year. On July 9th we will be sharing the stage with one of central Illinois' best Metal acts-SPRUNG. The annual Pekin TOYS FOR TOTS campaign is underway with an outdoor Rock n Roll concert at the Marine Corps Bunker outside of Pekin. The lineup includes MID LIFE CRISIS, MULLER ROAD, JENERATION JONES, RADIUS, TRAILER PARK, SHOTGUN CHARLIE, AND SPRUNG. We are scheduled to play from 2-4 but come out for the whole day and check out all of the great local talent. You can view the flier, with map, by clicking the link on our homepage. Tickets are $5 or equivalent in goods. We are also playing the annual MARIETTA TESTICLE FESTIVAL at LORRI'S in Marietta on June 11th. This is also a big outdoor bash! We've never played it before but it sounds very unusual. Come on out and see for yourself. There will be lots of food and drinks aplenty. I'll be sure to take pictures of the shenanigans. We played in LORRI"S beer garden last summer and had a blast. See ya there. We've had a lot of fun this last couple of months. We played at BOWSERS in Bushnell and CENTRAL TAVERN in Beardstown. Always a good time. We've met a lot of new friends and have seen many familiar faces. Glad to see people returning to our shows. We are currently working on mpegs for the media page. Our new friend in the biz, Pete from STRAIGHTLINE, filmed us with his new fangled video cam. He is now in the process of editing and mixing the recording. Hopefully, we will have it up soon. On the Personal side, Sunday is off for the summer and enjoying life. Claude has moved once again and is probably relaxing now that the move is over. Damon is working his butt off and takin care of business. He recently bought a new speaker bottom and a car. I just keep plugging along with all my ventures. I also bought a new amp. Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. I've wanted to buy a new amp for awhile. I think I got a good one. If you are interested in booking JENERATION JONES you can by clicking on the SCHEDULE page. TIM WOODS has been keeping us hopping and would be happy to talk with you. Thanks again to ALL! See you at the gig.

Whatzup JENERATION JONES fans? We'd like to take time to thank you loyal fans for coming to our shows. A couple of gigs lately have been shy on revelers and we would like to thank our faithful for being there for us. You know who you are. Thanks. It looks like the recording dates have been cancelled. For unknown reasons, the studio backed out. We are now searching for another studio that can make an accurate representation of our music. If anyone would like to email me with suggestions, please feel free. JENERATION JONES would also like to announce that we will no longer be a juke box for unruly roadhouses. We are professionals with professional aspirations. No more Roadhouses. As professionals, we are prepared to forego playing live at all, until we can find the right market for our music. It is tough being a Rock band in this area. You may notice some changes in our schedule effective immediately. Thanks to Shanetrain for the pep talk.

Welcome once again to the JENERATION JONES web page. The weather is changing and the anticipation of outdoor activity is alive. The band has been very busy this past month. We have done shows at LORRI'S MARIETTA TAP, as well as BUCHER'S in Summum. We also played a last minute gig at MOORE'S in Canton due to a cancellation. Thanks to BILL MOORE for calling us. There are pics of the MOORE'S gig on the pics page. We are scheduled to play at DUKE AND JOANNIES in Chandlerville, Saturday the 19th. JOANNIE called me last night to assure me that the partiers were gonna be there. Come on out and Rock with us south of Havana on Rt. 78. Future bookings include CENTRAL TAP in Beardstown on the 5th of March. Also PUPPY DOGS in Bartonville coming up on the 26th of March. We are trying hard to tap the Peoria clubs, so come on out and support us at PUPPY DOGS. We are also working on a sponsorship from a major brewery, which involves playing a couple of really cooool shows this summer. I'll have more info on that later. TIM WOODS informs me that he has a multi-band SUMMERJAM in the works for July or August. He's planning to feature a big name act warmed up by local bands. I'll keep you posted on the details of this concert as they develop. Tim's name will someday be synonymous with JAY GOLDBERG. Central Illinois, watch out for TIM WOODS. If you wish to book JENERATION JONES for your venue, please contact TIM. His numbers are posted on the SCHEDULE page. We are also still working on producing our demo CD. The wheels are in motion and we have high hopes that it will all be worthwhile. It looks as if we may be recording at STUDIO 9 in Beardstown. Very Cool Studio! Pete is an excellent producer and has recorded tons of bands. We are all looking forward to it. MATT BAHAN from 99X informs me that a demo CD is mandatory to promote any local band via his station. We are now at the mercy of technocracy. I've always been a judge of a good live act myself, but some prefer production. Why is that? Don't they know that LIVE MUSIC RULES!?Come see us MATT. Anyway, we would like to thank you all for coming to our shows and for keeping up on us through this site. We hope to see you at future shows and please feel free to leave us a message on our SAY IT page or email us. Our email links are on our individual BIO pages.

Whaaatzup people? Thanks for your interest in our site. Things have been going pretty good for JENERATION JONES lately. Our INVME 2R kicked off to a rather large crowd of crazy partiers on December 10th at MOORE'S PUB in Canton. Holiday Cheer ruled the night, the dancers danced, and all was well. We are scheduled to play at MOORE'S PUB again on Friday, JAN 7th. We hope to see you all back again, with some added new faces. Be ready to party, SHOT GIRL has a full tray! We also have a Saturday night gig scheduled at MOORE'S in the future. Please see our SCHEDULE page. We really have a good time in Canton, so come check us out. NEW YEARS EVE was a total blaaaaast in Bushnell this year. RANDY MEYERS' BOWSERS was the place to be. The crowd was amazing. I think they got a good thing going in that little town. Rock n Roll ruled the final night of this event filled year. We had a Champaign toast at midnight and kicked 2004's ass out! We are scheduled to play at BOWSERS again in 2005, check our schedule. There are pics of both gigs posted on our PICTURES page. On Saturday Jan. 15th, JENERATION JONES will be at CENTRAL TAP in Beardstown. It will be our first time in, but Tim assures us that the place will be jumpin. We are really looking forward to spreading a little JonesRock to the south. River towns always Rock. We also have an upcoming show at the POUR FARM in Forrest City on the 22nd of January. We have yet to grace that stage either but I'm sure we can stir up some sort of Rock n Roll mayhem in the tiny burg. Come check us out, between Manito and Havana on the Manito blacktop. We really appreciate the great tavern owners, small and large, who allow us to entertain their friends. THANKS! On the homefront, JENERATION JONES is (finally) working on a CD. We have booked time with a local studio and are feverishly juggling our schedules to accommodate the recording process. We probably will produce a 6 track demo of covers to satisfy potential bookings first, but we are also very determined to produce some of our original material. We have no VH1 aspirations, just great ideas for music we know you will like. I'll keep you posted on the disc's progress. If you are interested in booking JENERATION JONES for your venue, please contact TIM WOODS at 668-2837 or 224-6391. Thanks again for clicking on our page. We really would like to know you, please sign our guestbook(Say It) and check us now and then. Our web page is updated constantly. and we always try to make our site interesting. See ya at the gig!

Hello again JENERATION JONES fans. Thanks again for checking out our web page. Please sign our guestbook before you leave. JENERATION JONES has been very busy this past month. We played Bowsers in Bushnell for the first time. Pretty cool place to party. RANDY MYERS is the new owner and he is anxious to get the place rockin! We are also scheduled to play there NEW YEARS EVE, so if you are making plans already, you should come on down to BOWSERS to ring in 2005. On Nov. 6th, JENERATION JONES played to a packed house at DUKE AND JOANNIES in Chandlerville. Every once in awhile, Joannie throws a big bash to liven up Cass county…..it works every time. Thanks to all who came! We also played at LORRI'S MARIETTA TAP in Marietta on Rt. 95 near Macomb on Nov.27th. I must say that those good ole boys and girls like to PARTY! We had a great time and everyone else did too. There are pics of the gig on the pictures page. We'll be seeing you all in Marietta again February 5th. JENERATION JONES has a show at MOORE'S PUB in Canton this Friday Dec. 10. It is the kickoff of our INVME 2R. What better place to kick off this year's tour. MOORE'S is one of the larger venues that we play. It holds a lot of people so we want to see all of you there to fill it up. On the homefront: Damon likes the direction our music is going. He likes the heavier stuff, and he is working on getting some more new gear. Musicians are never satisfied. Sunday Love is, as always, singing. She learns em as fast as we throw em at her, and she's having a lot of fun. Claude Rocks. The guy can play anything, and very well. He is also Jonesin for new gear. Maybe when we get signed! JENERATION JONES would like to thank you for your interest in our band. We would like to see you at our shows. Please see our schedule page. If you wish information on BOOKING JENERATION JONES for your venue, please contact TIM WOODS at 668-2837 or 224-6391.

Hey everybody, we would like to thank you all for checking out our website. We are closing in on 1250 hits. Not bad for 3 weeks! We are proud of the site and thank you all for your comments. PLEASE SIGN OUR GUESTBOOK when you visit. JENERATION JONES has been busy these past few weeks. We are working on a whole new set for upcoming shows. We already have over 100 songs on our playlist, and we are feverishly working on another 20. We are steering the new material to the heavier side of rock. We will continue to play a lot of the older chick tunes that you all love, but Sunday has been working herself in to a rage that must find an outlet. So, we will tune down even lower in an effort to accommodate the need to scream. Try to understand. JENERATION JONES has a few more dates to add to the calendar. We have a show at LORI'S MARIETTA TAP on November 27th on Rt. 95 in Fulton County. We played a huge party there last summer, What a blast! We also have a date at BOWSERS in Bushnell November 20th. This will be our first time in but we hope you will come out to support us. Also, a reminder to come party with us at DUKE AND JOANIES in Chandlerville next week(Nov 6th) as Joanie has informed me that she is throwing a "WILD PARTY" and "can't wait to get it started !" JENERATION JONES would like to welcome aboard Mr. TIM WOODS to our little rock party. Tim is an avid musician that has a knack for the management side of the music biz. We are pleased to have him handle our scheduling and we are salivating at our future with him booking us. If you wish to talk with TIM WOODS about us, just give him a ring at (309) 668-2837 or 224-6391. It's finally starting to get cold. Outdoor Rock shows are winding down. We played a couple of good bashes this year. The Bike show at McDuffs was one of the best. We got to play with SPRUNG. ( I have shared the stage with Shawn Barkley before, about a million years ago. What a cool cat.) JENERATION JONES is looking forward to the holiday season. We have a show at Moore's on the 10th of December. Moore's is always a good time and we will be looking for you to party with us. We are planning on taking some pics for the website, so smile and say cheesefries. We also have a date at Duke and Joanie's in Chandlerville on November 6th. I have played there a lot in the past with other bands. They have wild parties! Come on down. South on Rt. 78 past Havana. Joanie calls me once in awhile when she wants a ROCK band that will keep em dancin. Sad to announce that all of the "Brothers" gigs have been cancelled due to padlocks on the doors. Don't know what that's all about, but we sure had a good time playing there while it lasted. We had our Halloween gig there, now we have to go trick or treating. Still looking to fill up our calendar for the rest of the year and beyond. Crusens? Brogy's? JENERATION JONES is pleased to report that Sunday Love is recovering quickly from her surgery. She's getting back to her old self(help!). She has been singing a little, trying to work back into a rage. I think she'll be pissed enough to belt for the Duke and Joanie's gig. Damon has reported endlessly to me that he is JONES'N to play some hard core gut rock. Be patient grasshopper. One of our bars said we were getting to heavy. Yuk yuk. Claude is just being the outstanding percussionist that he is. He's been busy with his boys and is itchin to gig! He got some new gear and is anxious to let you hear it. Claude's also been on the phone. Gigs acomin. And I have been polishing up my guitars. (I love custom finishes) ordering shit from musicians friend and Doin da Damn Thang. Finally, We would like to throw out much love to Dan Thompson for getting our website up for us. He did a great rush job and is still working some bugs out. His ideas lend me to believe he is out to outdo the other band sites. Dan??? Thanks Bro!
